Bishop Louis E. Gelineau English Tea Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. white raisins
    2 Tbsp. milk
    small amount of water
    3/4 lb. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    4 c. flour
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Mix raisins, milk and enough water to barely cover in a saucepan.
    Boil for 5 minutes.
    Drain and allow to cool.
