Squash Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium squash
    4 onions
    2 bell peppers
    1 hot pepper
    1/4 c. salt
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Step 1:
    Chop squash, onions, bell peppers and hot pepper; add salt.
    Stir and let stand 1 hour.
    Keep cold with ice cubes. Cover with ice cubes in pan.
    Drain off liquid.
