Chocolate Nut Meringues - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. chocolate bits
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until foamy. Add sugar gradually; beat until stiff peaks form.
    Fold in vanilla, chocolate bits and nuts.
    Put 1/2 teaspoon in mini paper cups, or drop onto greased cookie sheet.
    Bake in a 275\u00b0 oven for 40 minutes.
    Leave in oven to cool.
