Spice Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. ground cloves
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
3 eggs
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Grease and lightly flour two (9 x 1 1/2-inch) round baking pans.
In a mixer bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients.
Add shortening, brown sugar and buttermilk or sour milk, mixing until all the flour is moistened.
Beat 2 minutes.
Add eggs; beat 2 minutes more.
Stir in nuts.
Turn into pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes on wire racks.
Remove from pans and cool.
