Borscht(Makes 10 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. good beef stock
    1 lb. onions
    butter
    1 lb. cabbage, sliced
    3 c. beets
    1 c. beet juice
    1 small can tomato paste
    3 c. canned tomatoes
    2 green peppers, sliced
    salt
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    sour cream
Preparation
    Saute
    onions
    in butter 15 minutes.
    Add
    cabbage
    and beets; mix with stock and let boil for 15 minutes.
    Add tomato paste, tomatoes, garlic and green peppers.
    Boil
    slowly 15 to 20 minutes.
    Add beet juice, lemon, sugar and vinegar.
    Simmer 2 to 3 minutes.
    Salt to taste.
    Serve with sour cream.
    Serve hot or cold.
