Ingredients

1/4 c. butter (cooled)
1 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients and set aside.
Whip egg whites until stiff.
Whip egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
Gradually add melted butter. Follow with sour cream and buttermilk.
Add dry ingredients all at once and mix until batter is smooth. Fold in egg whites gently. Bake on heart shaped waffle iron heated until a drop of water sputters.
Serve with whipped cream and jam.
