Southern Fried Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. okra
    1 c. cornmeal
    1/2 c. flour
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 c. cooking oil
Preparation
    Cut off stem ends of okra and discard.
    Slice okra pods in 1/2-inch slices.
    Put meal and flour in Ziploc bag.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Heat cooking oil in skillet until one piece dropped into oil sizzles immediately.
    Put sliced okra pieces in bag with meal/flour mixture and shake well.
    Drop pieces into hot greased.
    Turn as pieces brown.
    Cook crisp.
    Drain on paper towels.
