Mom'S Dill Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. water
1 c. vinegar
1/2 c. canning and pickling salt
2 cloves chopped garlic (per jar)
2 tsp. dill seed or fresh dill weed (per jar)
pinch of alum or tsp. (per jar)
cucumbers
Preparation

Boil water, vinegar and canning and pickling salt together. Put garlic in each sterilized quart jar and dill seed or fresh dill weed with it.
Put cucumber slices in jar.
Put in a pinch of alum or teaspoon and pour boiling solution over cucumbers and seal.
Keep jars hot while filling with cucumbers by placing them in hot water.
