Doves For A Crowd - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    salt and pepper
    flour
    Crisco
Preparation
    Salt and pepper each bird. Coat with flour. Brown each bird in about 1 inch Crisco. Set aside until all birds are browned. Place all in pot. Pour in enough water to let them steam. Cover and steam 1 to 2 hours on simmer. Do not let all the water steam out. Add more water if needed. When ready to serve, remove all birds and thicken pan juices for gravy.
