Half Ways - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. white sugar
    2 egg yolks
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate pieces
    2 egg whites
    1 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Cream together shortening, brown sugar and white sugar.
    Add egg yolks, beaten with water and vanilla.
    Sift together flour, salt and soda.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    This is a stiff dough. Pat out onto 14 x 10-inch greased pan.
    Sprinkle with chocolate pieces.
    Beat whites stiff; add brown sugar and continue beating (will be thin).
    Spread over top of chips.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Cool before cutting.
