Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour (plain)
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Add enough cold water or chicken broth to make a stiff dough. Make into small balls and let rest about 2 hours.
    Roll dough real thin. Cut about 1-inch wide.
    Drop dough into hot broth that has been strained to prevent small bones.
    Add cooked chicken and cook 10 minutes.
    Turn off heat.
    Two tablespoons of sweet milk may be added.
