Kay'S Smith Island Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 level c. sugar
    2 sticks butter (soft)
    5 eggs
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 c. water
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    1 level tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cream butter and sugar well.
    Beat eggs separately and add to creamed butter and sugar.
    Add vanilla.
    Mix evaporated milk and water together.
    Alternately mix in flour and evaporated milk.
    Add baking powder and last cup of flour.
    Bake in thin layers.
