Christmas Bonbons - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dates
    1 c. nuts
    3 egg whites
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    red cake coloring
Preparation
    Grind dates and nuts through food grinder.
    Beat egg whites until stiff; add sugar.
    Add vanilla and red cake coloring.
    Roll into balls.
    Roll balls in meringue; bake at 250\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
