Coconut Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar
    3 Tbsp. flour
    2 1/2 c. milk or cream
    2 egg yolks
    1/2 c. fresh grated coconut
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift together sugar and flour.
    Add a little at a time, milk to flour mixture until you have used 1 cup milk.
    Beat egg yolks until smooth.
    Add the remainder of milk to eggs.
    Mix well, then add the egg mixture to the flour mixture (strains).
    Mix well, then cook until thick.
    Remove from heat.
    Add coconut and vanilla.
    Place in baked pie crust.
