Cheese-Green Chili Potatoes(So Rich And So Good!) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. margarine
    4 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. milk
    16 oz. American cheese, coarsely grated
    1 onion, chopped and sauteed in margarine
    4 oz. canned, chopped green chilies
    3 to 4 potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
    salt and pepper
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Melt margarine in medium skillet.
    Stir in flour until absorbed.
    Add milk slowly, stirring until smooth.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and stir in cheese.
    Add onion and chilies. Butter a flat 3-quart casserole dish.
    Place overlapping slices of potatoes in rows until bottom of dish is covered.
    Lightly salt and pepper potatoes.
    Pour half of cheese sauce over potatoes. Pour 1/4 cup milk over sauce.
    Add another layer of potatoes, salt, pepper, sauce and 1/4 cup milk.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0 or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
    Serves 8 to 10.
