Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. Crisco
3/4 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. melted butter
1 qt. strawberries
1 pt. whipping cream
Preparation

Sift flour, soda and salt.
Add Crisco (cut into flour until it resembles coarse meal).
Add buttermilk and mix well.
Divide dough into equal parts.
Roll first part out on floured waxed paper into 8-inch circle.
Put on baker (iron) and spread with melted butter.
Roll out second piece the same and top with butter.
Place on top of first piece.
Bake at 375\u00b0 until browned (medium).
Cut into pie shaped wedges.
Split and cover with berries and cream.
