Smothered Hamburger Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    salt
    pepper
    garlic
    1 can mushroom soup
    1 medium onion
Preparation
    Place ground beef in bowl.
    Season all together.
    Shape ground beef into thick patties.
    Brown on each side in 1 tablespoon shortening.
    After browning all of the meat, pour out all, except 1 tablespoon, of fat out of the skillet.
    Pour mushroom soup into skillet.
    Add 1/2 can of water; stir until mixed.
    Place meat patties into mixture.
    Slice onion and lay slices on top of meat. Cook under low heat for 45 minutes.
