Arlene'S Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. coarse yellow corn meal
    2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 eggs, separated (save whites)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. half and half
    3/4 c. melted margarine or butter
Preparation
    Combine in a bowl the dry ingredients (corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt).
    Combine egg yolks with vanilla, half and half and margarine or butter; add to dry ingredients. Stir until moistened.
    Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Fold into mixture.
    Pour into well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
