Danish Pastry Apple Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg yolk
1 c. cornflakes
8 c. sliced apples
3/4 to 1 c. sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 egg white
1 c. confectioners sugar
3 to 4 tsp. milk
Preparation

Combine flour and salt.
Cut in shortening.
Beat egg yolk in a measuring cup.
Add enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid.
Mix well. Stir into flour mixture.
On floured surface, roll half the dough to a 17 x 12-inch rectangle.
Fit into and up the sides of a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch baking pan.
Sprinkle with cornflakes.
Top with apples.
