Chicken Livers In Port - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 small green onions, finely chopped
    1/4 c. butter
    1/2 lb. chicken livers
    1/4 tsp. fresh sage or 1/8 tsp. ground sage
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/3 c. Port wine
    1/8 tsp. freshly ground pepper
Preparation
    Saute onions in melted butter a few minutes. Add livers and saute 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the size of the livers. Bruise sage. Add along with the salt, lemon juice, Port and pepper. Cook slowly about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Correct seasoning and serve on toast or with crackers.
