Banana Nut Loaf - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
2 TBSP. soft shortening
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
1 c. mashed ripe bananas
3 c. sifted flour
3 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix thoroughly the sugar, shortening and egg.
Stir in milk and bananas.
Sift together and stir in flour, baking pwd. and salt. Blend in the nuts.
Pour into well greased 9 by 5 by 3 in. loaf pan.
Let stand 20 minutes before baking.
Bake at 350\u00b0 about 70 minutes or until toothpick stuck in center comes out clean.
(Crack in top is characteristic.)
