Rich Sweet Dough - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 stick margarine
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 egg
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Scald milk in small saucepan over medium heat.
    Stir in sugar, salt and margarine.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Measure warm water into large bowl that can be covered.
    Stir in yeast until dissolved. Stir in cooled milk mixture, beaten egg and half the flour.
    Beat by hand until smooth.
    Stir in remaining flour and beat until smooth.
    Batter will be stiff.
    Cover tightly and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
    Dough may be kept for up to 3 days.
    Use for tea rings, dinner rolls or sweet rolls.
