Sweet Potato Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lb. fresh sweet potatoes
1/2 c. margarine
1 egg
1 c. sweet milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. whole nutmeg or more, grated
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
Preparation

Peel potatoes.
Slice and cover with water.
Add salt and boil until tender.
Drain off water.
Add butter, margarine and sugar, then mash.
Add to beaten egg.
Blend well.
Add nutmeg and milk; blend well again.
Pour into crust.
Bake at 500\u00b0 about 15 minutes until the crust browns.
Reduce heat to 400\u00b0 and bake about 30 minutes longer.
