Christmas Houska - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cakes yeast
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    1/2 c. chopped almonds
    1 grated lemon rind
    3 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. butter
    1 c. raisins
    9 to 10 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Put yeast into 1/2 cup lukewarm milk and let rise.
    Cream the butter and sugar together.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Mix well. Then add yeast, milk, salt and grated rind.
    Make dough pretty thick and add nuts and raisins.
    Knead the dough until smooth and not sticky.
    Let rise.
    Then put the dough on board and divide for braids.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 minutes, then 375\u00b0 for another 40 minutes.
    Frost with confectioners sugar frosting.
    Sprinkle with almonds and cherries.
