Ingredients

3 sq. semi-sweet chocolate
2/3 c. evaporated milk (small can)
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Combine in saucepan the chocolate, evaporated milk, sugar and salt.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Add butter and vanilla. Continue to cook, stirring until well blended. Remove from heat. Serve hot or cold.
Sauce thickens on standing. Can be thinned with a little milk or cream.
Makes about 1 1/2 cups and can be stored in refrigerator several weeks.
