Crustless Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 cooking apples, peeled, cut into eighths and placed in a saucepan
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Place apples in saucepan with sugar, cinnamon and water.
    Cook 10 minutes and place in buttered pie plate.
    Cream butter and add gradually the brown sugar.
    Cream well.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Add to creamed mixture, working with hands. Sprinkle over apples in pie plate.
    Bake about 45 minutes in moderate oven.
