Ginger Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. soft shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 small egg
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. hot water
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. each: cinnamon, salt, cloves and nutmeg
    1 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Mix first 4 ingredients thoroughly.
    Stir in soda dissolved in hot water.
    Sift together and stir in remaining ingredients. Chill dough.
