Chinese Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. flour
    1 (7 oz.) pkg. dates, cut up
Preparation
    Mix ingredients in order given.
    Pour into greased tin and bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cut into narrow strips.
