"Herman" Starter - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 envelope dry yeast
1 tsp. salt
2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
Preparation

In a large ceramic or glass bowl (don't use metal), dissolve yeast in water.
Add flour and sugar and beat with whisk until smooth.
Cover loosely and leave at room temperature 48 hours. Makes 2 cups of Starter dough.
Use 1 cup for Herman coffee cake or other recipes and give the other to a friend.
