Crock-Pot Apple Butter - cooking recipe
Ingredients

finely chopped apples (tart apples are best)
4 c. sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Fill 5-quart crock-pot heaping full with apples.
Drizzle 4 cups sugar over apples (or less, depends on sweetness of apples). Sprinkle cinnamon, cloves and salt over apples.
Cover with lid. Lid may not fit tightly at start, but apples will shrink while cooking.
Begin cooking on high, then lower heat and cook all day until thick and dark.
Put in jars and seal (stir occasionally while cooking).
