Southern Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. pecan halves
    3 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 (9-inch) unbaked shell
    1 c. dark corn syrup
    2 Tbsp. margarine, melted
    1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Place pecan halves in a pattern in bottom of unbaked pastry shell.
    Beat eggs slightly; mix in corn syrup, sugar, margarine, vanilla and salt.
    Gently pour into unbaked shell.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes; lower temperature to 350\u00b0 and cook an additional 30 to 35 minutes (filling should be slightly less set in center than around edge).
    Yields one 9-inch pie.
