Mom'S Fruit Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (20 oz.) cans Dole pineapple chunks, drained
    2 cans mandarin oranges, drained
    1 jar maraschino cherries, drained and washed
    3 or 4 bananas, sliced
    1 large box jello vanilla pie filling
Preparation
    Reserve juice from pineapple.
    Slice bananas and mix with drained fruit.
    Cook pie filling using pineapple juice instead of milk.
    Let cool and pour over fruit.
