Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 oz. red food coloring
    3 tsp. Nestle Quik
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 1/4 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Make a thin paste of food coloring and Nestle Quik.
    Cream Crisco and sugar.
    Add whole eggs and color paste.
    Mix together. Sift together cake flour and salt.
    Sift 3 times.
    Add alternately the buttermilk and dry ingredients.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat with mixer for 3 minutes.
    Remove from mixer; add vinegar and soda. Mix into batter by hand.
    Bake in 3 greased and floured 8-inch round pans at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes or in a 9 x 13-inch pan for 40 minutes.
