Poppy Seed Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. (2 cubes) butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 lb. ground poppy seed
    1/2 lb. walnuts
    grated rind of 1 lemon
    8 eggs, separated
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
    In a mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar for 15 minutes.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each.
    With each yolk addition, also add 2 tablespoons poppy seed.
    Stir in nuts and rind.
    In a clean bowl with a clean beater, whip egg whites until stiff, but not dry.
    Sift flour and baking powder; beat into creamed mixture. Fold whites into creamed mixture.
    Bake about 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
