Rice Krispies Treats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
    4 c. miniature marshmallows or 7 oz. large marshmallows, cut into small pieces
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    5 c. Rice Krispies cereal
Preparation
    Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan; set aside.
    In 4-quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
    Add marshmallows and stir until melted.
    Cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla and cereal and stir until well mixed.
    With buttered spatula or fingers, press mixture evenly into greased pan.
    Cool completely.
    Cut into 2-inch squares.
