Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening or 1 1/2 sticks soft margarine or butter
    1 box brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together onto wax paper. Cream the shortening and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add dry ingredients, then add nuts and chips.
    Pour into greased large cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
