Curried Shrimp And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, diced
    1/4 lb. butter
    1 to 2 Tbsp. flour
    salt and pepper
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. curry
    1/4 tsp. ginger
    2 c. half and half
    2 lb. small cooked shrimp
    4 Tbsp. lime juice
    2 c. cooked wild or regular rice
    1 c. water chestnuts, sliced
    1 small cinnamon stick
Preparation
    Saute onion and garlic in butter. Blend in flour, sugar, curry, ginger, salt and pepper. Slowly pour in half and half. Add cinnamon. Simmer, then add lime juice and cooked shrimp. Simmer 5 minutes. Add rice and water chestnuts.
    Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes.
    Serves 6 to 8.
