Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices bacon
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 (14 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 1/4 c. water
    1/4 lb. uncooked pkg. precooked rice (1 1/4 c.)
    1/4 c. chili sauce
    3/4 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    3/4 tsp. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 oz. shredded cheese (American or Cheddar; 2 c.)
Preparation
    Cook bacon until crisp.
    Drain.
    Pour off all but 2 tablespoons bacon fat.
    In remaining fat, cook onion and green pepper until tender.
    Add remaining ingredients, except cheese. Pour mixture into baking dish.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 until rice is done, about 20 to 25 minutes.
    Crumble bacon; sprinkle each dish with half the bacon, then cheese.
    Return to oven to
    melt cheese.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
