Pickled Carrots And Zucchini - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2-inch stick cinnamon
    3 whole cloves
    3 medium carrots, cut in strips
    1 medium zucchini, cut in strips
Preparation
    Advance preparation:
    In saucepan, mix first 5 ingredients and 1/2 cup water.
    Add carrots; cover and simmer until crisp-tender. Add zucchini; return to boiling.
    Transfer to bowl.
    Cover; chill at least 8 hours.
    Makes 3 cups.
