Reine De Saba - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. semi-sweet chocolate (Hershey special dark)
    1 lb. sweet butter
    12 eggs, separated
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. almond extract
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 c. sliced almonds
Preparation
    Melt chocolate at low temperature.
    Soften butter at room temperature.
    Beat egg whites until soft peaks with 1/2 of sugar. Cream butter and remaining sugar; add yolks, then chocolate, then extracts and almonds.
    Fold in alternately into creamed mixture, whites and flour until blended, then turn batter into buttered and floured 10-inch spring-form pans.
    (Makes 2.)
    Bake until firm 1 1/2-inch around edges, center still soft.
    Bake approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
    Cool until firm.
    Serve thin slice with whipped cream.
