Piccalilli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 quarts green tomatoes
    2 quarts sweet peppers
    2 quarts onions
    1 medium head cabbage
    1 1/2 pound brown sugar
    3/4 cup salt
    1 ounce mustard seed
    3 ounce stick cinnamon
    1 1/2 ounce cloves
    1 ounce allspice
    vinegar
Preparation
    Wash tomatoes and peppers.
    Peel onions:
    cut cabbage in quarters.
    Put vegetables through food chopper.
    Sprinkle alternate layers of vegetables with salt.
    Cover:
    let stand overnight.
