Gourmet Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. lean stewing beef, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
    2 cans cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
    1 pkg. dried onion soup mix
    1 lb. fresh mushrooms (leave them whole unless very large)
    fresh ground black pepper
    1 c. cream-style sherry
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Put all ingredients into casserole dish and mix well.
    Cover and bake 3 hours.
    Casserole should go right from oven to table.
    Serve with crusty bread, tossed salad and a good wine.
