Pecan Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. sweet milk
    1 stick butter
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook butter, sugar and dates until thick.
    Add vanilla and pecans and stir well.
    Roll in wet towel and chill until firm; slice thinly.
