Divinity Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white syrup
    salt
    2 egg whites, beaten
    1/2 c. water
    vanilla
Preparation
    Cook all ingredients until small amount forms a ball in cup of cold water.
    Beat egg whites.
    Test syrup; if forms ball in cup of cold water, pour 1/2 syrup mixture over egg whites.
    Cook remaining syrup until small amount forms hard ball in cup of cold water.
    Continue beating first mixture constantly.
    Pour remaining syrup mixture over first mixture.
    Beat until creamy.
    Drop by teaspoon on waxed paper.
    Chopped nuts may be added before dropping.
    Does not do well in rainy weather.
