Spiced Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. tart cooking apples
    3 c. apple cider
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Pare, core and quarter apples.
    In large kettle, combine apples and cider.
    Bring to boil over high heat.
    Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Puree apples through food processor.
    Add sugar and spices.
    Mix well.
    Pour into 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 2 hours or until thickened when spooned.
    Pour into 1/2-pint jars.
    Put in hot water bath. Half cover jars.
    Boil 10 minutes.
    Makes 7 half pints.
