Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. white sugar
    1 c. milk
    2 c. nuts, chopped
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 pkg. dates, chopped
Preparation
    Cook sugar and milk together until soft ball stage on candy thermometer or soft ball in cold water.
    Add chopped dates and butter and cook again until soft ball stage is reached.
    Remove from stove and add nuts.
    Stir as long as possible (thick) and pour onto damp cloth into a long roll; shape until it is set and roll in powdered sugar.
    Wrap in wax paper and keep refrigerated. Slice when ready to eat.
