Ginger Crinkles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 1/3 c. sugar, divided
    3/4 c. shortening
    1/4 c. light molasses
    1 egg, slightly beaten
Preparation
    Sift flour, soda, salt and spices; set aside.
    In a large bowl, use electric mixer at medium speed and gradually add 1 cup sugar to the shortening, creaming until light and fluffy.
    Blend in molasses and eggs.
    At low speed, beat in flour mixture until combined. Refrigerate 1 hour.
    Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in remaining 1/3 cup sugar.
    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool 1 minute before removing to wire rack to cool.
