Pepper Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. sirloin or round steak (1/4-inch thick)
2 Tbsp. fat
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, halved
1 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 beef bouillon cube
1 c. hot water
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
1 bell pepper, cut in thin rings
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. cold water
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
Preparation

Cut meat in finger size pieces; brown slowly in hot fat for about 15 minutes.
Add onion and garlic the last few minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Dissolve bouillon cube in hot water; add to meat.
Cover and simmer until meat is tender, 20 to 25 minutes.
This may be done early in day and refrigerated.
Add tomatoes and bell pepper to meat mixture; cook 10 minutes longer. Combine cornstarch, water and soy sauce; stir into meat mixture. Bring to boil; cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes longer. Remove garlic and serve over hot noodles.
Serves 4.
