Fried Corn - cooking recipe

10 ears fresh corn
4 slices bacon
1 c. water
3/4 stick butter
salt
ground pepper
Preparation

Cut the corn from the cob and scrape the cob with the back of a knife to get all of the milk. In a heavy skillet, fry the bacon and remove to paper towels to drain and crisp, leaving the drippings in the skillet. Add corn and water and bring to the boil. Stir well; reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper. Crumble the bacon and use as a garnish. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
