Ingredients

3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 Tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
6 c. flour (sometimes more)
Preparation

Mix all ingredients together; add flour last.
Stir until shininess leaves the dough.
Roll on floured surface and cut. Deep fry in vegetable oil or shortening until golden brown.
Makes about 4 dozen.
